If I can make a request, it will be Sweet Georgia Brown by Joaquin Murphey.
Btw any stuff from Murphey will be very welcome.
Thanks
Hi Mike I am brand new to your blog. So how does the C6 tuning end up with an E on the first string if the second string is also an E. That is: ACEGACEG from the bottom to the top. Regarding the tune Four Wheel Drive.
Dennis, the C6 tuning I use, it is spelled from top to bottom: E C A G E C A G–we eliminate the G on the top and put a G on the bottom. The G on the bottom is very easily retuned to other notes which can be extremely useful. I have several variations on the bass strings that I use frequently.
Hi Mike,
I use C6 on a 8 string:
Low to high: A C E G A C E G
Is this the tuning used in the “Steelin’ From The Masters” video @ http://www.mikeneer.com/.
I ask because I sometimes run into variations of the C6 tuning.
Thanks
Gary
Gary, the Four Wheel Drive video uses the C6 that has E as its 1st string. That is the C6 that I use primarily, but also Emmons at that time did not have a high G.
